City Parks
Dubuque city parks are open to leashed pets with a few exceptions - Bunker Hill, Marshall Park, Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, Eagle Point Park, Murphy Park, Veterans Memorial Plaza, and where otherwise marked.

This charming, pet-friendly shop welcomes fido to browse the shelves with you as you search for your next favorite mystery, biography or romance novel. River Lights Bookstore is an independent bookstore at 1098 Main Street and welcomes all canine friends.
Fenelon Place Elevator
Take a ride on the world's shortest, steepest railroad railway with your pup, at the Fenelon Place Elevator on 4th & Bluff St. (The cars are small, so be aware some larger dogs may not fit with you and friends in a full car.)
Travel Dubuque Welcome Center
Stop into the Welcome Center to pick up your map, a treat for the pup/or a drink of water for your pup. You'll find brochures and merchandise that will help you get to know and remember this modernized city. Informational kiosks located conveniently throughout the downtown area will also assist you in your explorations.
Mines of Spain
Mines of Spain is just a five-minute drive from Downtown Dubuque and full of trails, ready for days of hiking. (Dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet long.)
Dubuque Dog Park
The 2.5-acre park is fenced and offers separate areas for large and small dogs. The park provides space where dogs can exercise and socialize with other dogs. (Dogs can play off-leash in the Pet Park.)

Farmers' Market
Explore Iowa's oldest farmers' market with your best friend! The Dubuque Farmers' Market takes place every Saturday morning, May - October, 7 AM - 12 PM at 1200 Iowa St. (Pets must be on a leash no longer than three feet and must be kept by their owner's side at all times.)
Mississippi Riverwalk
The Mississippi Riverwalk in the Port of Dubuque is peppered with sculptures and work of art for you to explore as part of their ‘Art on The River’ showcase.
Field of Dreams Movie Site
See the Field of Dreams Movie Site with your Canine, located in Dyersville, IA. Just a reminder, only service animals are allowed in the farm house & event center.
Swiss Valley Park
Also known as little Switzerland, Swiss Valley Park is a great spot for a sunset walk and a dip in the creek.

The Mighty Mississippi
A.Y. McDonald Park, located at Hawthorne St & Volunteer Dr, is situated right on the banks of the Mississippi and gladly welcomes pets! From there you can walk the under a mile walk to view Lock and Dam #11.
Heritage Trail
The Heritage Trail is a 26-mile, scenic, all-season trail that winds through beautiful landscapes carved out by a once bustling railroad route. The perfect place for a peaceful trek.
