Fall Weekend Guide for Adventure Seekers
Ready to get exploring and find your next adventure this fall? Look no further
Pick and choose your favorite stops or visit them all.
Stop by Convivium Urban Farmstead and fuel up for the day. This unique location is home to a restaurant, event center, and urban community gardens on their property as well as nearby neighbors.
Next, head towards Proving Grounds, an 8-mile mountain bike park with Blue & Black trails, a beginner loop, and a small skills park featuring six wooden features. (Good to know: Proving Grounds was named after the area of land once used by John Deere Dubuque Works to ‘prove’ and test equipment.)
Take a break and relax over lunch at Copper Kettle. This restaurant offers elevated pub fare and craft beers and is located near a historic structure that once housed the Dubuque Brewing and Malting Company. (Good to know: This restaurant recently secured a spot on the 10 Best Game Day Spots list.)
Schuster's Pumpkin Patch
For the adventure seeker, a pumpkin patch may seem tame. What if we told you they have a pumpkin blaster? This cannon was added in 2015 and allows you to shoot pumpkins out at targets in a nearby field.
Jubeck New World Brewing
After an afternoon of cannon blasts and maybe a wagon ride or two, visit Jubeck New World Brewing. This local favorite is a microbrewery started as a kickstarter and has continued to give back to the community that got it started.
Oolong's Asian Cuisine
Wrap up the evening next door to Jubeck’s at Oolong’s Asian Cuisine. This restaurant takes its inspiration from Thai and Vietnamese flavors. From pho to curry and everything in between, this is a must-try while in Dubuque.
Day two begins with brunch at the corner of Third and Main Street. This historic building was once home to Cooper Wagon Works whose operation spanned city blocks. Today, Barrel House can be found at this corner serving up American cuisine and a delicious Sunday brunch.
Sky Tours Zipline
Get one-of-a-kind views from the treetops as you zip across old Union Park with Sky Tours Zipline. With 9 zips throughout the park, you’ll spend the day with high flying adventures. (Good to know: Reservations are required.)
Brew Hop Passport
Finish up the weekend taking in as many of the breweries you can on the Brew Hop Passport. With a jumpstart from Saturday’s explorations, you’re on you way for a craft beer adventure.
