Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
The Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens was established in 1980. It consists of 56 acres. Admission is free and the grounds are open year-round from 7 a.m. to dusk, welcoming around 55,000 visitors from all over the world each year. The Arboretum includes the following gardens: Herbs, Hostas, Roses, Annuals and Perennials, Cacti, Prairie, Wildflowers, Hydrangeas, Children's Gardens, Garden of Eat'n, Japanese Garden and Koi Pond, Formal English Garden, Union Park Garden, Ornamental Tree, and Shrub Collections, and Conifer Collections. There are also wooded hiking trails. The Dubuque Arboretum's beauty is something we all can cherish - thanks to the valuable hours from over 350 volunteers, staff, and community support.
