Check out what's happening in the tourism industry this December.
Bringing Planners to Dubuque
We are excited to announce that in 2020 we will be working hard to bring meeting and group tour planners to Dubuque on organized familiarization tours of the community. Each month will feature a two day / one night stay for planners to experience our culture, attractions, dining scene, and our hospitality. It has been 4 years since we last hosted a familiarization tour of our community. Past experiences show that when we are able to personally showcase our community to a planner, they are more likely to book business here in the future.
Familiarization tour dates are:
February 5-6, 2020; March 4-5, 2020; April 1-2, 2020; May
6-7, 2020 (Tourism Week); June 3-4, 2020; July 22 -23, 2020; August 5-6, 2020;
September 1-2, 2020; October 7-8, 2020; November 4-5, 2020; December 2-3, 2020.
American Bus Association Marketplace
This year’s American Bus Association (ABA)Marketplace will be held in Omaha, NE January 10-14, 2020. The close proximity to Iowa has allowed for so many beneficial opportunities for the Iowa Group Travel Association and Travel Dubuque to help enhance group tour planners knowledge on our great state. The Iowa Group Travel Association will have two full booths at the event this year. Whitney Sanger, Sales Manager for Travel Dubuque, will be at this booth as well as taking appointments at the showcase on behalf of Travel Dubuque. Dubuque is also being featured in the “Hollywood in the Heartland” post familiarization tour being offered through ABA. Group travel continues to prove an important economic impact generator for Dubuque County, and this is just one more way your Travel Dubuque team is staying in front of influential planners.
