Known for its rich history, Dubuque has quietly built up its offerings for today’s ‘active’ groups.  More than just a round of golf, let’s take a look at our Top Eight ACTIVE-ities:

#8) Mystique Ice Arena – Skate the very same ice as the Stars from the USHL Dubuque Fighting Saints.  Enjoy the arena as you skate around dreaming of a packed house of 3,000 watching.  If you haven’t taken in a Fighting Saints hockey match, then what are you waiting for?  Great entertainment at a great price!

#7) Dubuque Disc Golf – Scorecards are available at the course.  Head up to 2700 Northview Drive to enjoy a round of disc golf.  Similar to golf except for two things, no tee time is needed and it’s FREE.

#6) Heritage Trail – Almost a marathon of trail as your group bikes the 26 miles out to Dyersville on the Heritage Trail.  Enjoy the Heritage Trail as you walk, run or bike it.  If your group makes it to Dyersville, don’t forget to visit the Field of Dreams.

#5) Dubuque Water Trail – Nine miles of canoe/kayak trail awaits your group.  Set sail on the Mighty Mississippi for a day of enjoyment and action.  Five landings areas are available along this nine mile route.  The Water Trail touches on some of Catfish Creek, but is mostly on the Mississippi River

#4) Gerald McAleece Park and Recreation Complex – Outdoor Skate Park & BMX Course.  These activities are normally for the younger adults and teens, but if your body is up to it, then enjoy.

#3) Team Building Blocks Rope Course – Whether it’s a corporate outing or a casual group, accept the challenges that Team Building Blocks has to offer.  Originally started as a corporate team building complex, they now welcome all groups with open arms.

#2) Fever River Outfitters – Stand Up Paddleboarding.  We’ve heard it’s a great way to get on the water and you will see the river from a whole new angle.  Paddleboarding has caught on in recent years.

#1) Number One on our list is the Sky Tours Zipline – Enjoy a two-hour guided tour of Historic Union Park that encompasses all nine of the ziplines.   Bonuses of the visit include a guided hiking tour out to the ziplines, you will be able to explore the heights and sights of the ‘Ruins of Union Park’ and will ride nine zipline courses within a span of two hours.  CLIP, GRIP & ZIP, it’s their motto.

Have some fun in Dubuque with our Top Eight ACTIVE-ities!!
