Set in Sigmund Freud’s London home on the day England entered World War II, “Freud’s last Session” is an imaginary meeting between Freud, “the Father of psychology,” and C.S. Lewis, professor and Christian apologist. “Freud’s Last Session” is a hard-hitting game of verbal and intellectual chess, with both Lewis and Freud bandying wits, beliefs and desires. Assisted suicide, the afterlife, the power of myth, and the existence of God enter the conversation – audiences experience a bond transpire between the characters with their shared humor. Throughout the performance is woven a lightness of nuance and comic moments, balancing this intense and provocative drama.
